After graduation, I went to the University of Arkansas, graduating in 1967. I then went to work for Mobil Oil Corporation. Married the love of my life, Marilyn in 1968. We have four wonderful adult children, three sons and a daughter and eight grandchildren. We have lived in Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, Kansas, and Louisiana. I retired from Mobil in 2000. Since retiring, I have kept busy by becoming a CASA (court appointed special advocate) for children, driving vehicles for an international automobile and truck auction, and entertaining grandchildren.

Wasn’t it only yesterday that we were walking across the stadium to receive our diplomas. Looking back I feel we grew up in the best of times. The DG, the Y, Beverly’s, and the Avenue. Was this the real Happy Days? I live in the Boston Mountains above Lake Fort Smith. I retired from Mountainburg School System in 2006 after 30 years, the last 26 as the high school counselor and 4 years as the biology and chemistry teacher. Before coming to Mountainburg, I taught in New Orleans, Illinois, and Tulsa. My life has been on both sides of a desk in a classroom. I may have learned more from my students than they did from me. Many of my students have become dear friends over the years. Living in the woods has been rewarding and challenging at the same time. After 36 years as an educator, I wanted to retire early to be able to spend more time with my dad. I was very blessed to have him as long as I did. He passed away in 2011 at 97. I’m very involved in the Mountainburg Presbyterian Church where I serve as an elder, sing in the choir and play English hand bells. I still spend time each week in Fort Smith taking care of several pieces of family property. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in October. |

After high school I headed to the hill and roomed with Lorraine McCraney at Fullbright Hall. I married my highschool steady, Jimmy Jetton, and continued at the University, majoring in French and Spanish. I taught at Rogers Highschool for several years and then moved to Dallas with Jimmy. That didn't work out so well. I got dumped in Dallas and had to start my life all over. I worked several jobs and completed my Masters at NTSU. I married another grad student, Evan Fleming, and taught school in Dallas several years. We moved to Ft. Smith and created many years of memories with our two children and my parents. I worked as a Psychological Examiner and then a school counselor with Ft. Smith for 31 years, and just retired last year after 44 years in education. We enjoy our hobbies and spending time with friends. No grandkids yet but it is not too late!

I graduated with a BA in math from Northwestern University and the spent a year at Columbia University getting an MS in Mathematical Methods in Engineering and Operations Research. Following that I went to Navy OCS in Newport, RI ending up as an Ensign. They sent me to teach at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA for almost four years. Mike Ferrell was at OCS at the same time (early 1969). While at Columbia University I called Patty Rawlings whose husband was in his second year of law school there. She invited me for dinner at their apartment. Only at our 50th reunion did I learn from Cissy that Patty's husband was a future CEO of Walmart. About forty years working at AT&T and living in Denver and New Jersey (mostly NJ) zoomed by. Where did the time go. I retired soon after our 50th reunion. In August of 2016 I celebrated my 70th birthday hiking the Wainwright Trail for twelve days across northern England. In August of 2017 I celebrated my 71st birthday by hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc for ten days around the Mont Blanc Massif in France, Italy and Switzerland. In 2019 I'll be hiking for six days in the Italian Dolomites. As long as my wife and I can physically do this sort of hiking we'll continue, but notice that the duration of the hikes is decreasing! |

I plan to retire at the end of 2013, after working for AT&T for a little over 40 years. I started in Denver (then Mountain Bell) and then transferred to New Jersey where I have been ever since. Most of my time has been working on AT&T's contracts with the federal government. My only son recently had a daughter, our only grandchild, while at Temple Law school in Philadelphia. She is now 14 months, and he should graduate in a year. My two sisters moved to Arkansas after I left - to Ft Smith and Rogers, so the reunion will give me a chance to visit with them. My wife and I plan to spend as much time travelling as possible after we retire. For example we plan to spend the first few months of 2014 in California, and then later in the year hope to take a 140 mile hike across England, although the latter will require getting in better shape.

As you can see, I went into the Army Reserve in '66 and got out a few years later(32 to be exact). Have worked in one form of the electrical industry for most of my life(wholesale, retail, plant maintenance, contractor, industrial controls and generators) and am still doing so with a company that manufactures Generators, light towers and pumps for the oil field. Plan to retire at the end of the year, though. I am retired from the Army. Was married and divorced twice, the last time in 1998. Had two boys with the first and a daughter and son with the second. My second son died several years ago. I have lived in Louisiana, Colorado and Texas since leaving Fort Smith, mostly in Texas.

From 1963 until 1971 I lived in Fort Smith with my two children Jennifer Wehba and John Horne. In 1971 I moved to New Orleans, La., where I had a born again experience with the Lord Jesus Christ. I've never been the same. I married my husband, Wyatte Garcia in 1988 and we began Day Star Ministries in 1989. We opened a home for troubled girls and a domestic abuse shelter in Poplarville, Ms., where we served as house parents for 20 years. After building a retirement home in Bay St. Louis, Ms.,we lost it to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We rebuilt in 2006. In recent years we have sold the girls home, and the domestic abuse shelter to 2 other ministries and opened a church in Bay St. Louis, Miss., where my husband and I pastor. Though we are both ordained ministers, I am the preacher. We have 5 children between us and 14 of the most beautiful and intelligent grandchildren that were ever born. If you don't believe me just ask me...LOL Looking forward to seeing you all...soon.
