Feb. 4, 1945–Feb. 13, 2006 Betty J. Fant, age 61, formerly of Rochester, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at The Woodlands, Muncie, following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1945, in Kosciusko, Miss. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Muncie. She is survived by her husband, whom she married March 16, 1968, William W. Fant; three children, Wayne and wife Jennifer Fant of Plainfield, Doug and wife Aimee Fant of Muncie, and Carrie and husband John Cornelius of Indianapolis; her father, William L. Douglas of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, William and wife DeEtte Douglas; four grandchildren, Andrew Cornelius, Benjamin Cornelius, Natalie Fant and Laurelen Spring. Also surviving are six nieces, seven nephews, 10 aunts, 10 uncles, and 17 cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alma Maude (Jenkins) Douglas. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 610 N. Reserve, Muncie, with Pastor Kevin Karner officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
