
Ron Jackson

Ron Jackson passed peacefully from this life on the afternoon of February 25, 2015 surrounded and supported by his loving family. Born and raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Ron graduated from Northside High School. Ron, a basketball player at Northside, continued his basketball career at the University of Arkansas graduating with a degree in Business Administration. In 1968, Ron married his wife, Theda, and began pilot training for the U.S.A.F. Ron, a Vietnam Veteran, proudly served the Air Force for five years flying KC-135s and was honorably discharged as a Captain. Ron and Theda raised three children in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ron ran a successful CPA firm. Returning to Arkansas with his wife, Ron retired in Greenwood, Arkansas on Shadow Lake, where he took great pride and joy in hosting family events. Ron was one of the first recipients in this area to benefit from a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). Such technology allowed Ron to meaningfully participate in the daily lives of his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theda, and children (and spouses): Ashley Griffin (Craig), Nicole King (Russell) and Spencer Jackson (Trish); six grandchildren: Austin, Tanner and Ragan Griffin, Caleb and Kennedy King and Molly Jackson. Ron is also survived by his sister Patricia Jackson Novick and sisters-in-law Toy and Nancy Baker.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 3rd at 1:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St., Ft. Smith, AR. Mr. Jackson was cremated under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
