Betty Rhodes, 73, of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, Jan, 17, 2019, at a local hospital. She was born June 13, 1945, in Woodland, Calif. She was a retired registered nurse and had worked at Sparks Hospital and Peachtree Hospice. Betty was the happiest while working in her flower beds and spending time with her family.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Wiles and Libby Sue Compton; one brother Mike Eidson.
Graveside memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Forest Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Rhodes, of the home; a daughter, Ginny Wilson and her husband Chris of Fayetteville; a son, John Rhodes and his wife Rachele of Fayetteville; five sisters, Ann Rantz of Roland, Barbara Bomar of Tulsa, Marilyn Worden and her husband J.C. of Owasso, Okla., Suzanne Evans and husband Robert of Bella Vista and Mary Casper of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother Jimmy Jackson and wife Cindy of Georgia;and special cousins, Rick and Margie Stiles of Fort Smith.
Cremation was under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
