Reflecting on my last fifty years, I've discovered that I've lived a wonderful life that has revolved around church worship and activities, family, sports, work and the occassional class reunion when I search for 500+ "best friends, acquaintances, and strangers" for a weekend of fun and renewing of old friendships. While most of us began our senior year at NHS, I was attending Fort Smith JC (now UAFS) and beginning a lifetime of going to school everyday. After earning a BS and MEd I taught at Darby and Chaffin Jr. High in Ft. Smith, the community education and Physical Education Aerobic programs for Westark Community College (UAFS) and finished my years in the Mulberry School District teaching various subjects from Geography to Archery in the Junior High and High School. I also enjoy teaching Ladies' Bible classes, speaking at  Ladies Lecturships and helping with our annual ladies retreat.

While at FSJC I met the love of my life and later married him in 1965! David and I just celebrated our 48th anniversary. We have two boys, Bryan and Paul, who kept us on the go with sports and activities; and now with their families, we are blessed with two daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren-ages 17-5. Riley,Audra, and Caroline belong to Bryan and Nancy, and Alex, Karsten, and Vivian are Paul and Alyssia's. We all like to swim or play about anything so we spend alot of time together. Along the way we "adopted" a daughter, Mary, who was a senior at Mulberry. She has two girls, Kat and Beth, so we were blessed with two more grand daughters. "Tennis is my racquet"--I like to watch and play. I was honored to play on the Arkansas Senior Cup team for the last two years at Huntsville, Alabama.

I retired in 2011 and spent a year just doing what I wanted to do. Now I'm lucky enough to have a part-time job with Marie Canaday a friend and fellow classmate. Can't wait to see everyone in October!

I still love to read and travel, both of which help with surviving summer in Texas.  Our three daughters, three sons-in-law and six grandchildren all live in the Houston area, so our sneakers are nailed to Texas soil.  Still, we try to depart around May 1 and stay somewhere higher or farther north until around October 1.  Although I try to keep from squeezing my heartbeats together with arduous physical activity (so they will last longer), I do ride the back of a tandem bike when the weather is good (not hot, cold, windy, rainy), and I only do flat hills, so my bike saddle is in very good condition.  We take bikes, the RV and the big, old dog and see as much of this beautiful country as we can.  We also visit my in-laws in England and various of our “semi” children scattered all over Europe once or twice a year.  I always enjoyed the work I did, but not working is better.  Now I am a patriot:  I don’t occupy a job a young person needs, and I spend money to keep the economy going.  Life is good!

I'm looking forward to seeing long-term (never old!) friends.

Husband Curtis (Pike Co. Rev. Comm. since 1979); son, Donald (Julie) and Madison - 12; son, Chris and Kenan - 16 and Mary Katherine - 14 keep me busy.  First United Methodist Church: teach Sunday School, choir, handbells, prayer shawl ministry and prepare Wednesday night suppers.  Troy Arts Council. Troy Shrine Club with Curtis. Master Gardener (if you could see the yard you'd think I flunked the course). Farm and cabin for relaxation. Ha! Free tomatoes.  Troy is a wonderful place to live.  Troy University is playing with the "big boys" so you may come to Troy for sporting events.  Only 125 miles from Panama City Beach or 200 to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.  Anyone love the beach?

Wow! 50 years, bet we all look the very same. I have lived a very blessed life. I have lived in Cushing, OK for over 45 years. I am blessed with two wonderful children; Wick who lives in Denver and Melissa who is married and lives in Sand Springs, OK, she has blessed me with the most terrific grandson ever. I worked in insureance for about 15 years and for the last 20 years of my career I was a conference coordinator. I love playing golf, shopping and doing anything else I can think of. I am single again and am enjoying finding out who I really am and what I want to be when I grow up. I am sorry I won't be able to attend the reunion but have a cold one for me and I hope to see everyone at the next reunion.

After graduation I decided an adventure was preferable to an immediate college education. The adventure turned out to be four years in the army, mostly in Germany. After an additional year in Europe post discharge, I returned to the states, work, and college. Ten years in the banking/finance field proved to be more than enough. I decided to teach and spent the last 22 years of my work life in education. My wife, the former Marilyn Sax - a St. Scholastica Academy alumna - was also a teacher. We were both able to retire early at age 58 and have spent the time since traveling, gardening, reading, and chasing grand-kids. We have three children, six grand-children, and two great grand children. We’ve lived in Van Buren for the past thirty years.

I worked for 23 years for two manufacturing companies in management and accounting.  I am now basically retired because I work three days a month as a bookkeeper.  I have been besssed with 2 wonderful children and 3 grandchildren, ages 16,12 and 3, with identical twin girls on the way.  My children, grandchildren and little dog are truly the light of my life.  I include my son-in-law and daughter-in-law as my children because they are my children by heart.
