Johnny Lee Hartsfield 78, of Hot Springs village passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 24th, 2023.

He was born in Ft. Smith, Ark., on April 23, 1945. John lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched many lives along the way. John retired from a 30 year career in the elecrical business.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sheila; one brother, Bruce Hartsfield of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sons, John, Jr. and Bob, both of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Haley, Zac, Shawn, Reid, Lauren, Alec; and four great-grandchildren. John never met a stranger, loved to play golf, traveling around the world, watching his Dallas Cowboys, and he always had a smile on his face.  A private family service will be held at a later date.   Published December 29th, 2023.

Janice Lee Haskins, 68, of Fort Smith lost her brave battle with cancer on April 10,2013, in her home with her daughters by her side. She was born April 3, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Jesse and Mary Perry. She retired from Sparks after 30 years as a registered nurse.  Janice is survived by her two daughters, Alana West and Teresa Tucker-West, both of Fort Smith; one brother, David Perry of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Jacob Yount of Camp Lejune, N.C. and Priscilla and husband Rusty Teasdale of Conway; and not to forget her grandcats, whom she loved very very much, Zulu, Ziggy, and Willie.

Gary Frank Pigeon, 68, passed away Friday, June 21 2013, at his home after a long illness. He was born May 4, 1945 in Fort Smith to the late Frank and Agnes Pigeon.  He was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, 142 Artillery Division and retired from Whirlpool after 33 years of service.


He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Jo Ann; one son, Gary Wayne Pigeon and wife Shannon; one daughter, Stacey Millard and husband Chris; five grandchildren, Lorelei and Lainey Pigeon and Noah, Adin and Aaron Millard; one brother Bill Moody and wife Rosalee; two neices; and one nephew.

John Allen Pigg, 71, of Mulberry died Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was born Feb. 13, 1945 in Mulberry. He was an industrial electrician at Whirlpool, president of District 3 Volunteer Fire Department, an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the 71 Freewill Baptist Church.

His funeral will be noon Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home in Alma with burial at Pope Cemetery with military honors. 

He is survived by his wife, Paula; a son, Keith Pigg of Mulberry; a sister, Rita Anderson of Columbia MO; a brother, Bobby Pigg of Melburne, and six grand-

children.

Graveside service will be 3 P.M. today at Alma City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.


 


He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Rheid of Virginia; his father, W.B. Powell of Fort Smith; and one grandchild.
